Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC ) has announced a tender for the construction of the furnace at the smelter starting price of 98.2 million dollars , according to the newspaper ” New Century ” a company representative .
According to the contest must carry out the construction of “turnkey” new smelting furnace with automatic submerged lance capacity of 17 thousand tons of copper per year. Term – October 2015 .
Bids will be accepted until November 14 , the tender results will be summed up at the beginning of 2014.
Project will be financed by a loan from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan , AMMC equity and loans from Uzbek banks .
AMMC produces refined copper, zinc, iron , lead concentrate and other products. Currently, the design capacity of the plant is 147,000 tonnes of copper cathode per year. The Plant also accounts for about 90% of silver and 20 % gold in the country.
